Paper Submission

The Elektrotehniški vestnik strives to publish well-written papers in all areas of electrical engineering and computer science that present important research results, successful applications or development, and well-focused surveys which put recent progress into a broader perspective.

  1. Prepare the manuscript according to the Instructions for authors and send electronic version in pdf or docx format to the Editor: Andrej.Zemva[at]fe.uni-lj.si
  2. The Editor will take care of the review process and return to the contact author the reviewers notes and copyediting notes.
  3. If the paper gets accepted, the contact author will be asked to amend the manuscript. The Editor will check the manuscript and send it to the appropriate lector.
  4. Apply the received lector corrections and send the final version of the manuscript in source format (docx or LaTeX, including graphic files) to the Editor. Please mark the parts where you disagree with lector.
  5. During the typesetting process the Editor will correspond with the author directly advising him/her of necessary steps to be taken for the processing of his/her manuscript.

Mandatory citation of research data

Elektrotehniški vestnik supports open access to research data, which form the foundation of modern scientific research. The journal’s co-funder, ARIS, requires the editorial board to ensure that authors provide open access to the research data used in the preparation of an article prior to its publication. The data must be prepared in accordance with the FAIR principles (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability).

Exceptions

When data cannot be shared fully openly due to legal, ethical, or other justified reasons, authors must provide an explanation, for example in cases involving the protection of personal data, when dealing with material that includes trade secrets or other commercially sensitive information regulated by law, or when the data pose security risks.

Repositories and citation

Authors must publish research data in trusted data repositories, archives, or centers that provide appropriate access regimes and have an identifier (e.g., a DOI). The editorial board of journal recommend to deposit the research data in Zenodo under the Creative Commons licenses CC BY 4.0 or CC0 1.0.

Authors must properly cite all data sources used, in accordance with the repository’s guidelines and the journal’s citation style.

Research data must be available to editors and reviewers at the time of manuscript submission for peer review, and to everyone no later than upon publication of the article. An embargo on access to data is permitted only exceptionally, subject to reasonable provisions regarding the permissible embargo period and with appropriate additional justification.

Use of artificial intelligence

The journal does not accept articles in which generative artificial intelligence (AI) is listed as a co-author or as a data source. Acceptable uses of AI include proofreading, feedback on structure and style, and translation. With appropriate disclosure, AI may also be used for data analysis, data visualization, and programming. In such cases, include in the methodological section of the paper an explanation of how AI was used, including the type of model employed, the prompts used, the date, and a link to the dataset.
